Building the UI and platform
systems behind global
finance.
Hands-On Engineering Leadership • UI Architecture • Platform Engineering • Global Teams
I'm a hands-on engineering leader who actively codes and stays close to the work, from pull requests and solution design to technical direction and team growth. Today I lead multi-asset portfolio management systems at JPMorgan Chase, supporting $438B+ in assets under management across global, high-volume platforms.
Currently writing The Agentic Playbook - a series on AI-assisted development and the future of engineering.
Leadership Snapshot
How I lead engineering
at scale.
I lead from within the work, combining active technical contribution with clear standards, strong teams, and reliable delivery at scale.
Pillars
The areas I focus on as an engineering leader.
Executive outcomes
Measurable results across reliability, speed, and quality.
99.42%
SLA uptime by investing in chaos engineering and instant rollback
89%
Of 210 engineers trained through AI-assisted delivery workshops
62%
AI-assisted sprint penetration reached while tracking quality metrics
Evidence
What this looks like in practice.
- •Stay close to delivery through coding, pull request reviews, solution design, and architecture decisions on production systems.
- •Relocated 15 engineers and their families during a sanctions-constrained acquisition, keeping both people safe and delivery on track.
- •Ran 6 AI workshops, trained 89% of the team, and reached 62% AI-assisted sprint penetration, tracking quality alongside productivity.
- •Introduced a weekend dev-environment lightswitch policy that cut infrastructure costs without affecting resilience.
- •Embedded chaos engineering, contract testing, and performance testing into our DevSecOps pipeline to catch issues before they reached production.
- •Reduced mean time to recovery by streamlining CI/CD and adding instant rollback through Spinnaker and Kubernetes.
Board-level insight
How I communicate engineering to the business.
- •Built strategic roadmaps with resilience metrics and regulatory context to align executives on priorities, risk, and technical direction.
- •Set engineering standards and ways of working across distributed teams, improving consistency in delivery, review, and decision-making.
- •Added risk controls to CI/CD and trained teams on contract testing to improve environment stability.
- •Produce board-ready KPI packs that connect operational health, delivery risk, and programme progress.
- •Mapped application dependencies (CMDB) to improve integration readiness and give leadership clear risk visibility.
About
From UI components to
trading infrastructure.
I started my career building user interfaces — from ad-creative front-ends at Verizon Media to microfrontend and payment platform teams at Bottomline Technologies. That foundation in UI architecture still shapes how I think about systems: close to the user, close to the code, and deliberate about how teams build.
Now I lead multi-asset portfolio management platforms at JPMorgan Chase, covering the full investment lifecycle: target allocation engines (SAA/TAA), research feeds, alpha screening, exposure management, portfolio construction, and order execution. I stay actively involved in delivery through coding, pull request reviews, solution design, and technical direction, working closely with portfolio managers, research desks, and risk teams to turn investment strategies into reliable production systems.
My leadership style is hands-on and engaged: aligning people, technology, and outcomes through clear standards, pragmatic technical choices, and ways of working that help teams deliver reliable software at scale. On the technical side, I work across event-driven architecture, distributed caching, multi-region replication, AWS infrastructure, and resilience practices including chaos engineering, contract testing, and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
